In March 2005 Bro Myrddin Housing Association joined Cymdeithas Tai Cantref, Family Housing Association and Gwalia Group to form a Consortium in order to promote collaborative working between housing associations and facilitate a more efficient delivery of The development programme, in line with the requirements of the Welsh Assembly Government. 

The Consortium known as ‘Gorwel’ has resolved to maximize the resources available to create the best quality affordable homes in South and West Wales, and to secure the funding necessary to ensure projects and associated activities contribute to the regeneration, health and environmental Interests of the area.  

Gorwel is committed to establishing closer working and strategic partnering agreements with contractors and suppliers particularly in relation to innovation in funding, design and procurement, and whilst facilitating local employment to encourage the development of smaller sized businesses in the South and West Wales construction and manufacturing industries, will seek to adopt the best and most modern methods to fulfil its commitments to the areas in which it operates.
