Website Search Quick Tips and Examples
Starting your Search
It's easy to search for content on our
website, just type in a few words or phrases that you are
looking for into the search box which appears at the top right
of every page.
Once you have typed in the word or phrase,
click search.
Choosing Search Terms
Entering the right search terms is key to
finding the information you want.
Our search looks for pages and documents
containing as many of these words and phrases you have searched
for as possible.
The results returned are ranked so that
the pages and documents most relevant to your query are
presented first.
Don't worry about missing a page or
document because it doesn't have one of the words in your search
-- our search facility will return relevant results even if they
don't contain all your query terms.
Excluded Characters
Unfortunately we have had to exclude
certain characters from being used in the website search as they
could make our website vulnerable to security attacks. We are
not listing the excluded characters as this could help those
attacking our website.
If you use one of the excluded characters
in your search it is removed and the search is performed using
the rest of the search string provided.
e.g. If # is an exluded character then 'number#1' is changed to 'number1' and then search results for the string 'number1' are provided.
We do not expect that this will effect
many people who use this site however if you have a trouble
finding content because of excluded characters then please
contact us;
Advanced Searching - Syntax

having to remember complex queries.
