An independent survey carried out amongst tenants of Bro Myrddin Housing Association shows that more tenants are satisfied with Bro Myrddin’s performance than three years ago, with one highlight being that 90 per cent of Bro Myrddin tenants are now ‘very’ or ‘fairly’ satisfied with its services.

 The survey, carried out by research organisation Feedback, was part of a regular three year review and invited tenants to comment on eighteen categories of Bro Myrddin’s performance.

 Over 53% of Bro Myrddin’s 715 tenants responded and expressed increased satisfaction with eleven out of eighteen categories, compared to three years ago.  The results of the survey were announced at the Housing Association’s AGM at the Ivy Bush Royal Hotel, Carmarthen, on Thursday 25 September.

 Commenting on the findings, Chief Executive Teresa Morgan said:

 “We are pleased with the findings of the independent survey, which show a real improvement in satisfaction amongst our tenants since it was last carried out in 2005.

 “As one of the smallest housing associations in Wales, we like to keep a close relationship with our tenants to make sure we meet their changing needs and expectations.  We regularly survey tenants ourselves on different aspects of our services, but feel it is important to carry out an independent formal review of satisfaction levels every three years.

 “The survey shows that there are some areas for improvement, and we will take these comments on board as part of our commitment to continuous improvement.

 She added: “We thought it was important to announce the results at our AGM rather than wait until next year’s full report in order to provide a current picture of our commitment to delivering a good service to our tenants.”

 Feedback, who carried out the survey of more than 700 tenants, are an independent organisation specialising in carrying out detailed surveys, with particular expertise of dealing with housing tenants.  The full results will be available on Bro Myrddin’s website - www.bromyrddin.org.uk
